Vila do Conde PortThis port is located in the city of Barcarena, Pará State, 100 km far from Belém, capital of the State. In Vila do Conde are exported, about 200,000 metric tons of pig iron per year. Due to restrictions in Espadarte access channel, the maximum draft at this port is 12 meters. The loading rate is about 8,000 tons SHINC and the loading system to the vessel’s holds is made by buckets (soft loading).
Itaqui PortThis port is located in the city of São Luís, capital of Maranhão State where it is exported about 300,000 metric tons per year of pig iron. The port of Itaqui has presently two berths in operation (102 and 103), but from August 2012 it will be delivered the berth 101 completely reformed and new berth number 100 will be available for operations. The drafts between all berths will vary from 10 to 15 meters. The loading rate in this port is about 12,000 tons SHINC and the loading system to the vessels’s holds is made by buckets (soft loading).
Ponta da Madeira PortThis port is located in the city of São Luis, capital of Maranhão State and is a private port that belongs to VALE. It has been exported through Ponta da Madeira port more than 3,500,000 tons of pig iron. The port of Ponta da Madeira currently has the Piers I, II, III with two berths and IV under construction, but only the Pier II is used for loading pig iron and soybean. The loading rate in this Píer can reach 35,000 metric tons SHINC. The shipment is made by SHIPLOADER and the draft is about 18 meters. By having this flexibility to berth Cape Size vessels, in 2010 was beaten the world record of shipment of pig iron in the same vessel and on the same port. Were loaded in this occasion 141,877 metric tons of pig iron on the M.V agility. The cargo was loaded for China and the shipment was a success, as we can see in an illustrative photo.
São Francisco do Sul PortThis port is located in the city of São Francisco do Sul in Santa Catarina State. At this port we made the coordination and supervison of the discharge of steel coils imported by NUCOR Brazil.
Rio de Janeiro Port
This port is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the State of Rio de Janeiro and is used for shipment of pig iron in containers, iron ore in containers and general cargo operations.
